More Scattered Storms Expected Today & Tomorrow
It will be another hot and muggy June day across North and Central Alabama, with temperatures climbing into the upper 80s and lower 90s this afternoon.
RADAR CHECK: A few scattered showers and thunderstorms are over Alabama this afternoon… they are most numerous over the Tennessee Valley. Away from storms the sky is partly to mostly sunny with temperatures mostly in the upper 80s and low 90s.
MUGGY SUMMER DAYS: We have some pretty classic summer weather for Alabama and the Deep South through the weekend. Partly sunny days, highs in the 88-92 degree range, and the usual risk of “scattered, mostly afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms”.
RADAR CHECK: Showers are almost impossible to find across Alabama this afternoon; the rain overnight last night and early this morning helped to stabilize the atmosphere. Heat levels are also down; many communities are only in the mid to upper 80s with a partly to mostly sunny sky.
RADAR CHECK: A disturbance moving westward on the south side of the upper high to the north of Alabama brought widespread rain and storms to the state overnight. Rain is still falling over much of North Alabama at daybreak; some southeast counties are still seeing some rain as well.
